been used as a fortress, prison and now they are a folklore museum with traditional exhibits.

The epitome of Greek culture, the magic of the Macedonian Dynasty, the splendour of Greek art gathered in a beautiful building of high architecture.

A historic and beautiful square in the centre of the city.

As part of the urban axis that extends up to the statue of El.
Venizelos, the square is a special attraction of Thessaloniki, gathering many people at all hours of the day.

The most important technological museum in Greece.

Being perhaps the most important technological museum in Greece, the Centre for the Dissemination of Science & Technology Museum, offers the public a permanent exhibition of historical exhibits for the understanding of science and technology issues.
Among the shows on offer you can enjoy educational films and documentaries in the cinema room of the cosmotheatre, films related to space in the planetarium, or experience a unique three-dimensional experience in the persimmon.

Saint Demetrios

More than just an Orthodox church.

The church of St Demetrios is dedicated to St Demetrios, the patron saint of the city.
It is undoubtedly one of the jewels of Thessaloniki.
Imposing and vast, it shows the history of Thessaloniki over hundreds of years.
In the basement of the church is the martyrdom of the Saint.
Combine this with a visit to the ancient marketplace located a little further down the road to the square and the pedestrian street of Aristotelous.

Hagia Sophia

The whole Byzantine history in a religious building.

One of the oldest and most important churches of Thessaloniki, which has remained intact through the ages and is still in operation today. It is located in the centre of the city and is one of its most important monuments. It is a Byzantine church with a round dome modelled on the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, with extraordinary painting and an evocative atmosphere.
